Answer: A parent or legal guardian may obtain a library card for a child of any age by picking up an application at the Customer Services Desk. Proof of residency in Huntington School District #3 must be shown. Parents who want their children to have video borrowing privileges and / or Internet access need to register for these services.

Answer: You can borrow most books for 3-weeks, new books for 2-weeks, holiday books for 1-week, videos for 2-weeks, DVD's for 1 week, non-fiction DVD's for 2-weeks, DVD sets (3+ disks) for 2-weeks, music CD's for 3-weeks, audiobooks and play-aways for 3-weeks, magazines for 2-weeks, museum passes for 3-days, and video games for 1-week.

Answer: There is a 50-item total limit per card. However there are also some limits on each particular type of item, per card. DVD's are limited to 5, music CD's are limited to 6, audiobooks and play-aways are limited to 6 (combined), magazines are limited to 2 per title, museum passes are limited to 1, and video games are limited to 1. Books and videos (VHS) are unlimited within the 50-item total limit.

Answer: The Teen Territory is a place for teens in grades 6-12 to unwind. The room has much of the latest books, movies, popular music, and exciting computer games. There is also a televison, comfortable seating, and a snack machine.

Answer: Computer sessions are for one hour at a time, and no more than two hours per day. Users under 18 need permission verification on their library card. Internet access must be registered by the parent. The Huntington Public Library does not control or monitor information being accessed from the Internet and cannot be held responsible for content, accuracy, quality or use of the information obtained. As with other library materials, restriction of a child's access to electronic resources is the sole responsibility of the parent/legal guardian.
